Dot NAME Domains

Introduced in 2001, the Dot NAME universal domain name extension is the only one intended for personal web pages only. These domain names can consist of personal or fictional names, nicknames and/or other titles people are known by. Initially, just third-level registrations were possible, so if you wished to buy john.doe.name, you would have to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and second-level registrations were also allowed. Already taken 3rd-level domains remained working.

Through our company, you can secure your .NAME domain for an interval between 1 and 10 years. You will be able to switch the WHOIS contact information, to park your domain, to modify Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an active domain to our company if you receive its EPP transfer key from the current domain service provider and we will renew it as soon as the transfer has been finished. There are no particular terms on who can get a .NAME domain, but in order to keep the concept behind its creation alive, the Registry organization may verify who the owner is and if there is no link between the owner and the actual domain, the registration may be challenged.
